Each year on February 4, people across the world unite to support a common cause and raise a collective voice on World Cancer Day.

World Cancer Day is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control, the largest and oldest international cancer organization committed to taking the lead in uniting the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda.

According to worldcancerday.org, 9.6 million people each year will die from cancer worldwide, making it the second-most deadly disease. Did you know that one-third of cancers can be prevented or detected early before they become a serious health problem? It’s important to know that finding cancer early almost always makes it is easier to treat or even cure, which means improved chances of survival and quality of life for people diagnosed with cancer.
