The OBSP is a province-wide, organized breast screening program that provides high-quality breast cancer screening to women without a physician referral. This organized screening program offers many important benefits to women including early detection, leading to better health outcomes.

The program provides screening to two groups of women:

  • women aged 50 to 74 who are at average risk for breast cancer with mammography every two years
  • women aged 30 to 69 years who are identified as being at high risk for breast cancer with annual mammography and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) screening

“We are very excited to be able to offer this program in the Kincardine community,” says Paul Rosebush, SBGHC President and CEO. “OBSP is proven to be beneficial for breast cancer screening and will be a valuable addition to the programs and services offered at our Kincardine site.”
