Why screen for cancer?

On average, 500 Canadians are diagnosed with cancer every day. Cancer screening saves lives. Screening can help identify cancer early before symptoms can be seen or felt. When found early, treatment is likely to be less invasive and more successful.

What cancer screening programs are available in Ontario?

Ontario’s screening programs offer people with no cancer symptoms in certain age groups the chance to get regularly screened for three types of cancer: breast, cervical and colorectal.

APPROXIMATELY 50% OF CANCERS CAN EITHER BE PREVENTED OR DETECTED EARLY, BEFORE THEY BECOME A HEALTH PROBLEM.
